Order of the Royal and Select Masters of England and Wales
District of Somerset and Wiltshire
Welcome to the web-site of the Royal and Select Masters, District of Somerset and Wiltshire. I feel sure that whether you are already a member of the Order or simply seeking to make a daily advance on Masonic knowledge, you will find information on these pages which will assist you. The pages are regularly updated to keep you abreast of the goings on within our District.
The areas covered by Districts are, in the main, representative of the counties as they were in the early part of the 19th century. Thus the District of Somerset and Wiltshire covers the area of the old counties of Somerset, Bristol and Wiltshire and has one Council meeting in S Gloucestershire, which was formerly part of Avon.
There are four ceremonies in this Order whose traditional histories provide a link between the histories of the Mark Degree progressing through the Craft to the Holy Royal Arch thereby covering the period between the building of the first Temple in Jerusalem undertaken by King Solomon around 974BC to the building of the second Temple undertaken by Zerubbabel around 534BC
The website also provides a means for Members to access News items, information about forthcoming District Events, necessary forms and useful documents. Also accessible are points of contact within the District and in our Councils.
